Language is quite fascinating. It is the means by which humans communicate.
What is the makeup of language?
Have you ever wondered about this? Languages are intricate structures. A language can be likened to the human body, vehicles, or buildings. All of these have one thing in common: they are made up of various parts. In the same way, language is structured from various materials, parts, or constituents. Just like the parts of a vehicle, the materials that makeup language are combined in various ways and have different functions.
The study of English language focuses on the parts, patterns, and structures of English and how these various elements function together to convey meaning. The mastery of English involves knowledge about the structure of the language. It also involves acquiring four language skills listening, reading, speaking, and writing.
In this class, we will explore the sounds of English and the various ways in which they combine to form words (oral skills). We will also examine words, how they function, how they are used in various situations, and how they are put together to form larger structures. This will help develop your vocabulary and particularly, your speaking skills. Lastly, this class seeks to improve the learner's reading and writing skills through the study of various types of writing. All these lessons are designed to enable effective communication in English.
